Le singe est dans l'arbre

We made a random spontaneous decision this morning, and that's that we're going to France for the weekend. Initially I dug around and looked at Calais, but I soon discovered that the ferry from Dover to Boulogne is cheaper and faster than the Calais one, and Boulogne looks like a nicer place than Calais, so we're going there.

Twelve o'clock ferry from Dover tomorrow. We're staying overnight in a hotel and coming back on Sunday evening. It was a bugger finding a hotel at short notice, but I got there in the end, and the whole thing is quite surprisingly inexpensive (a fraction of the cost of flying or Eurostar).

I'm very excited. After being ill all of last weekend and then having a shitty week, getting away like this will be great fun and I'm really looking forward to it.
