I went to the cinema in Falkirk last night to see The Woman In Black. I saw a feature about it on BBC Breakfast a couple of weeks ago, and thought it looked great, but it's met with some decidedly mixed reviews. However, Abby went to see it last week and loved it, so I went on her recommendation - and I really enjoyed it. That said, it scared the willies out of me - it's very creepy and had a couple of moments in it that made me jump out of my skin.

I thought Daniel Radcliffe put in a fine performance, and I think this will go some way to carving out a post-Potter career for him. The cast was excellent, but the key feature of the film that really stood out was the bleak, dreary and very creepy atmosphere with lots of mist and dereliction. I suppose the biggest criticism you could level at the film is that it's a bit formulaic - haunted houses have been done to death - but the house itself was awesomely scary even without the deranged and vengeful ghost in it.

The first scene of the film features three little girls jumping to their deaths from a window, and you know from that point on that it's going to be a scare-fest. The ending featured a rather clever twist that I didn't see coming, and all in all it was really enjoyable, although spoiled by an audience of teenagers who wouldn't shut up throughout the whole film.

Abby played a prank on me when I got home. I was minding my own business in the bathroom, cleaning my teeth. When I turned around to go to our bedroom, I saw Abby lurking in the doorway dressed in black, with a pair of black tights pulled down over her face. I screamed and jumped out of my skin - arrrgh!

Today I took the kiddies to Model Rail Scotland in Glasgow - it's Scotland's biggest model train exhibition. We went last year and really enjoyed it. This year it was bigger and pretty impressive, so we enjoyed it a lot, although like last year it was terribly crowded and I found that a little wearing after a while. By the time we got home again I was absolutely knackered.

Think I'd best be off for now - how are you all doing?

Blah!

Time of the month :o/

Roll on next weekend when we'll be in Paris!

omg Abby's trick sounds adorrrrable.

It was funny once I'd cleaned up the mess in my trousers!
